Well ladies and gents, I bravely ventured off to New Orleans for Mardi Gras again this year. This is the 4th year we have been so it's not our first rodeo. Every year we have gone with a big group of people, and stayed in hotels close to the French Quarter. This year, Rachel (Robbie's girlfriend) was kind enough to let us stay at her apartment. It's definitely not walking distance, but it was free and comfortable. It was only 8 of us for the most part, which is a very nice change from trying to keep up with 15 people at one time like in the past. It's much easier to walk down a street full of people with a smaller group. We only watched about half of 2 parades though, so we didn't get a lot of the good beads they throw. But we got enough!
I know some people think that two Shadoin's in New Orleans at the same time is a scary thought - but we managed to come out alive and well. Well, except for Robbie's foot, but he hurt that way before I entered the picture! A friend of Robbie's had a nice set up at her work and let us hang out there while watching the parades. Saturday night, she even let us go up on the balcony with everyone to watch Endymion - one of the big parades. Our view was incredible, but it was a little more difficult to get beads.
Kid Rock was the Grand Marshall for this parade. We saw him, but from a distance and couldn't get him to throw us any beads!!!This is a good friend of mine, Hillery, and me being "Parrot Heads". I think we ended up with a picture of every person with every person in the parrots...we had a great time.
Winter quarter is wrapping up with school, finally. And it's downhill from now!
I hope everyone is doing well.
Love, Sarah
